Rare Georgian chantilly brooch featuring a large 20 Carat gold setting  and amethyst stone. Amethyst measures grams 39mm x 32mm. Weight is 12.79 grams. This rare piece dates to approx 1820, and has had some significant historical repairs to make it stronger, these are visible on the back only.
This was  recently x-rayed to be 20ct gold.
